The “Two Sides” series is based on observations of situations of conflict and the unending struggle for domination. The titular “sides,” poured onto raw canvas and understood as abstract representations of participants engaged in a dispute, change positions, go numb, bend beneath shifts in weight, submit – only to rebel and break away a moment later. In her dynamic compositions, the artist gives shape to strength and weakness, delivers targeted blows, dodges nimbly. The canvases are not illustrative. Their meaning lies in the play of tensions and the rhythm of the developed forms of expression.
